最喜歡寫實而生活化的歌詞。Jonathan Coulton的A Laptop Like You是一個好例子，下面的一首亦是。

這兩年多以來，一直和一個好朋友在扮演歌詞中的男女角色。情況雖然不盡相同，但感覺極為相似（最少在男方的我而言）。所以，第一次聽到這首歌，便不禁啞然失笑。

中年近，人自然容易想當年。我未算中年人，但歲月流走，感覺亦相近。

近日重聽Beatles的In My Life，體會與以前大有分别。年少時，一直以為生命中的人和事會長久下去，永不止息。事實當然並非如此。

有朋友已身故多年。少年時期所住的地方已不復存在。家人老去，朋友嫁的嫁、娶的娶，分開的亦已分開。舊愛亦肯定地成為歷史，感情不再。下一代誕生、長大，完全沒有興趣變成長輩的我亦無可避免地走馬上任（雖然我仍自稱「哥哥」，而非「叔叔」）。自己亦不自覺地成為小肥佬一件。回首前塵，從來沒有想過自己所選擇的路是如此的曲折，而現在所做的會是如此的有趣。

現在聽In My Life的我，雖然仍是我，但已不是最初的我。要悔恨的可以很多，可以放開的更多。現在還算可以吧。唯一可惜的，是還未有一個可以讓我感到 “In my life, I love you more” 的人。
